My career has been dedicated to biomedical research and development; with my employer I have been involved in many aspect of biomedical research that reveal public health importance. Beside my work on Malaria, I’m also acting as a young leader who participates in many networks within Africa and in the Diaspora.
From January 2013 to Now: I am working within Malaria research and training center as a laboratory scientist and co-investigator on an innovative research project “Phase 2a dose escalation study of the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of low single-dose primaquine for gametocytocidal activity against P. falciparum in sub-Saharan Africa”. The success of malaria control programs in reducing malaria transmission in many areas has led to the call for elimination. As malaria transmission reduces, traditional tools of malaria control such as indoor residual spraying and insecticide treated bed nets lose their effectiveness at further reducing transmission because transmission occurs outside the house mediated by outdoor or early evening biting vectors.
