Intern – Compliance, Kroll Associates - Zurich

Summary of the Intern Position

This will be a Zurich-based (Wallisellen), two month internship (June – August 2017).

The Intern role within Kroll’s Compliance Practice will appeal to individuals who are ambitious and eager to take the first step in building their career for a leading investigative consultancy firm and start learning the basic of client and account management.

The intern will be responsible for supporting a Kroll Associate based in Wallisellen in a wide range of tasks including:

• Supporting research and due diligence processes for our Compliance Business in Switzerland;
• Conducting online research on companies and individuals;
• Data entry in Kroll systems; and
• Delivery of documents to client in Zurich.

Whilst an excellent academic record is essential, Kroll is open to applications from individuals to recent Graduates who are looking for an entry-level position into a professional services firm. Equally as important, applicants must show a willingness to learn and have a flexible approach to work, with excellent communication skills and thrive working in a small service-based office.

Key Tasks

The Intern will be expected to carry out the following tasks as part of their role:

 Research and gather information for cases by utilising databases, the internet and public domain sources.
 Ability to analyse and interrogate large amounts of research and data from multiple sources and effectively summarise information into concise analytical assessment.
 Client management support in Switzerland
 Providing administrative support to the team in Zurich including scanning, photocopying and filing.
 Communicate regularly with colleagues to inform of progress of case work, highlighting key issues where necessary.
 Organise files, maintain accurate research records.
 Provides additional administrative support to the Compliance team when requested


Below lists the key skills, competencies and qualifications which applicants must meet to be considered for the Trainee role:

• Strong academic background
• Proven experience of researching and analyzing data.
• Good research and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and write in a second European language – desirable but not essential.
• Awareness of sensitivities of working in a variety of cultural and political environments.
• Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information.
• Ability to communicate to Case Managers and colleagues with impact.

Additional Information:

• Ability to speak a second European language desirable but not essential.
• Valid work permit for temporary work in Switzerland is essential.
